Suren Byna
Ohio State University
Biography
Suren Byna is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at The Ohio State University. He is also a Visiting Faculty Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL). Prior to joining OSU, he was a Senior Scientist in the Scientific Data Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL). His research interests are in scalable scientific data management, particularly focusing on optimizing parallel I/O and on developing systems for managing scientific data. He is the PI of the ECP funded ExaHDF5 and ExaIO projects, and ASCR funded object-centric data management systems (Proactive Data Containers - PDC), and experimental and observational data management (EOD-HDF5) projects.
