 hD degree or equivalent and be able to demonstrate their abilities in upgr
 ading of next-generation supercomputers such as Fugaku. Applicants are exp
 ected to facilitate synergy between computer science and computational sci
 ence, and to have a long-term vision to explore research and development o
 f common infrastructure supporting the wide-ranging fields of computer sci
 ence. In addition, applicants must have competency equal to that of a prof
 essor or an associate professor in charge of research at the graduate scho
 ol level, and sufficient skills to lead a laboratory. \n\nIn particular, a
 pplicants should have the ability to drive the research fields related to 
 the above job duties on an international level. Applicants of all national
 ities are welcome. Furthermore, applicants must be able to balance coopera
 tion with independent research and have the management and communication s

 es.\n RIKEN has implemented a work-from-home system. Employees can work fr
 om home in accordance with the prescribed procedures.\n\n【Salary and benef
 its】\n1.Five-year fixed-term employment contract for a full-time managemen
 t position as Team Leader or Unit Leader. Renewable based on evaluation, u
 p to seven years from the initial date of hire.\n2.RIKEN may adjust the ab
 ove maximum period of renewability based on a) the employee's abilities, w
 orkload at the time of contract completion, performance and work attitude 
 and b) the continuation of the employee's center, laboratory or project an
 d RIKEN's management situation and budget at the time. In principle, emplo
 yment contracts will not be renewed for individuals older than 65 years.\n
 3.Newly hired female Team Leaders / Unit Leaders can apply for additional 
 grants from the internal fund to set up their research environment as part
  of the Center's efforts to promote the active participation of women.\n\n
 RIKEN has indefinite-term positions, which are subject to the mandatory re
 tirement age of 60. There is a subsequent re-employment program allowing h
 iring until age of 65. Any scientists, including fixed-term Team Leaders /
  Unit Leaders of RIKEN who have been hired through this open call, are eli
 gible to apply to open calls for indefinite-term positions.\n\nIn principl
 e, the first two months of employment is considered a trial period.\n\nSal
 ary will be an annual salary based on experience, ability, and performance
 , and will consist of a base salary and a variable salary. The variable sa
 lary will be determined each fiscal year based on experience, ability, and
  performance. The monthly base salary is 708,000 JPY for Team Leader and 6
 01,500 JPY for Unit Leader. The monthly base salary and variable salary ar
 e subject to change due to amendments to RIKEN regulations. \n Commuting a
 nd housing allowances will be provided. Social insurance will be applied.\
 n\nThe approximate amount of monthly salary at the time of employment:\n T
 he monthly salary at the time of employment will start from 708,000 JPY fo
 r Team Leader and 601,500 JPY for Unit Leader per month, with additions ba
 sed on performance and experience.\n\nMandatory membership in the RIKEN Mu
 tual Benefit Society (RIKEN Kyosaikai).\n\nWork hours: 9:00 to 17:20 (lunc
 h break 12:00 to 12:50). However, the employee may change starting and fin
 ishing times at their own discretion if it does not interfere with work pe
 rformance.\n\nDays off include public holidays, New Year's holidays (Dec. 
 29 - Jan 3), and RIKEN Foundation Day.\n\nPaid leave includes annual paid 
 leave (up to 20 days per year depending on the month of employment), speci
 al paid leave (childcare, family nursing care, etc.), and work-life balanc
 e holidays (up to 7 days per year depending on the month of employment).\n
