 _R11504\n\nThe Computational Sciences Center at NREL has an opening for a 
 postdoctoral researcher on a newly funded project on learning reduced mode
 ls for turbulent flow physics. The researcher will be part of a multi-inst
 itution and interdisciplinary team that has funding through the DOE Office
  of Science Advanced Scientific Computing Research Program. The goal of th
 e project is to leverage high-fidelity physics solvers to learn reduced mo
 dels of physical phenomenon of interest to offshore wind.\n\nThe postdocto
 ral researcher will work with NREL staff and external collaborators on dev
 eloping algorithms and tools for a paradigm of data-driven modeling of com
 putational fluid dynamics (CFD) representative of wind farm physics. The r
 esponsibilities for this position include:\n\nDeveloping comprehensive hig
 h-fidelity datasets representative of offshore wind farm physics\nDevelopi
 ng techniques for physics-informed feature extraction from high-fidelity d
 atasets\nDeveloping surrogate models for wind farm flow\nDeveloping algori
 thms for uncertainty quantification of the surrogate models\nIn addition, 
 the successful candidate will be able to work independently, as well as in
  a large collaborative team with researchers from NREL, academia, and othe
