 oral Research Associate who will support the Quantum Communications and Ne
 tworking Group with the Computational Science and Engineering Division (CS
 ED), Computing and Computational Sciences Directorate (CCSD) at Oak Ridge 
 National Laboratory (ORNL).  \n\n \n\nMajor Duties/Responsibilities: \n\nP
 articipate in new and ongoing research in quantum communications, quantum 
 networking, and quantum repeaters.\nFormulate novel quantum information so
 lutions to problems of national interest and support the research and deve
 lopment necessary for the practical implementation of those solutions\nInt
 erpret, report, and present research concepts and results to national audi
 ences at all levels\nWrite peer-reviewed papers and technical reports for 
 internal and external release and represent the organization by giving tec
 hnical presentations in large public forums\nDeliver ORNL’s mission by ali
 gning behaviors, priorities, and interactions with our core values of Impa
 ct, Integrity, Teamwork, Safety, and Service. Promote diversity, equity, i

 fications:\n\nPh.D. in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Computer S
 cience, or a related field completed within the last 5 years\n \n\nPreferr
 ed Qualifications:\n\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\nMot
 ivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to particip
 ate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory \nAbility to f
 unction well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accom
 plish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs\nA
 bility to acquire data and control experiments via computer\nPrevious rese
 arch experience in experimental quantum information\n \n\nApplicants canno
 t have received their Ph.D. more than five years prior to the date of appl
 ication and must complete all degree requirements before starting their ap
 pointment. The appointment length will be for up to 24 months with the pot
