DESCRIPTION:The Organization:\n\nThe National Center for Computational Sci
 ences (NCCS) in the Computing and Computational Sciences Directorate at Oa
 k Ridge National Laboratory is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Systems Engin
 eer to play a key role in improving security, performance, and reliability
  of the NCCS computing infrastructure which supports multiple highly ranke
 d Top500 Supercomputers, including the world’s first exaflop system, Front
 ier.\n\n \n\nThe Team:\n\nIn this role you will work in the Infrastructure
  team within the HPC Infrastructure and Networking Group to support all ac
 tivities of our supercomputer center.\n\n \n\nMajor Duties/Responsibilitie
 s:\n\nUtilize education and experience to ensure our Kubernetes platform r
 emains reliable, available, and fast\nIdentify problems and provide soluti
 ons to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, and efficiency o
 f our services\nWork with the team to define and implement best practices 
 and standards within the organization\nRespond to, investigate, and fix se
 rvice issues all the way from bare metal through the OS to the application
  code\nCoordinate with vendors to resolve hardware and software problems\n
 Participate in an on-call rotation providing 24-hour, 7-day support and of
 f-hours maintenance windows\nWork with users to help them use Kubernetes\n
  \n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree or an equivalent combinati
 on of education and experience\nAt least two years of relevant technical e
 xperience\n \n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n2+ years of experience workin
 g as an SRE/Systems Administrator/Systems Engineer\nExcellent interpersona
 l/communications skills, and the ability to work as part of a team\nPrior 
 or experience working with Docker or Kubernetes\nExperience using image re
 gistries such as Quay or Harbor\nUnderstanding of networked computing envi
 ronment concepts\nWorking knowledge of Unix systems fundamentals and commo
 n network protocols\nAbility to develop and maintain programs and scripts 
 that aid in the operation and automation of tasks using various shell and 
 scripting languages (primarily bash, Python, and Go)\nWorking knowledge of
  tools such as Prometheus, Nagios, and Grafana to monitor systems, metrics
  and create dashboards\nWorking knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code toolin
 g such as Terraform, Helm, and Puppet\nWorking knowledge of CI/CD tooling 
 and GitOps\nExperience with code review and familiarity with tools like gi
 t, GitHub and GitLab\n \n\nSpecial Requirements:\n\nThis position requires
  the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Ene
 rgy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing 
 designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug t
 est and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.\n\n \n\nB
