 Scale Simulations

 ation technology capabilities to keep computational sciences at a level co
 mparable to experimental sciences in the pursuit of scientific discovery a
 nd technical innovation.\n\n \n\nThe Computational Coupled Physics group i
 s seeking Postdoctoral Research Associates to aide in the design and devel
 opment of the Kokkos parallel performance portable layer for HPC applicati
 ons.\n\n \n\nMajor Duties/Responsibilities: \n\nCollaboration within a mul
 ti-disciplinary research environment consisting of computational scientist
 s, computer scientists, experimentalists, and engineers/physicists conduct
 ing basic and applied research in support of the Laboratory’s missions.\nP
 articipating in design and implementation of the performance portability l
 ayer, potentially including the design and implementation of numerical alg
 orithms from graph and linear algebra areas, and following team planning, 
 documentation, verification and validation, and software quality processes
 .\nAuthor peer reviewed papers, technical papers, reports for internal and
  external release as well as represent the organization via technical pres
 entations in workshops and conferences.\nDeliver ORNL’s mission by alignin

 tions:\n\nA PhD in physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a re
 lated field completed within the last 5 years\nDemonstrated expertise in:\
 nParallel algorithm and software development using one of the following pr
 ogramming models: Message passing (MPI), CUDA, OpenMP, Kokkos, OpenCL, Ope
 nACC, HIP, SYCL.\nExperience working with many-core architectures such as 
 graphical processing units (GPUs).\nDemonstrated experience in the design 
 and implementation of numerical algorithms in C/C+\n \n\nPreferred Qualifi
 cations:\n\nExperience working with numerical analysis and scalable algori
 thms\nExperience working in a multi-disciplinary research environment that
  follows modern software quality standards (version control, unit testing,
  continuous integration, etc.)\nExperience working with large-scale simula
 tion codebases running on exascale supercomputing systems\nSoftware design
  education or experience, including generic programming, object-oriented a
 nalysis, and scripting languages.\nExperience working with open-source lib
 raries\nExperience working in a distributed collaborative team\nDemonstrat
 ed written and oral communication skills, a proven publication record, and
  effective interpersonal skills.\n \n\nApplicants cannot have received the
 ir Ph.D. more than five years prior to the date of application and must co
 mplete all degree requirements before starting their appointment. The appo
 intment length will be for up to 24 months with the potential for extensio
