DESCRIPTION:The University of Chicago is seeking a highly qualified HPC Sy
 stem Administrator to join the system and operation team that builds and m
 anages RCC HPC systems and facility operations. The individual in this pos
 ition will be involved in the procurement and management of HPC hardware a
 nd software.\n\nResponsibilities:\n•	Installing, configuring, and maintain
 ing large computer clusters/servers and software. \n•	Day-to-day operation
 s of the systems including systems administration, monitoring and storage 
 performance up to and including network components. Management of the syst
 em’s network switch, parallel file system and HPC software stack and tools
 . \n•	Configuration of the scheduling and queuing system.\n•	Diagnosing an
 d resolving system operational problems quickly and effectively. Coordinat
 ing with vendors to resolve hardware and software problems. Assist users w
 ith access and other help desk ticket requests or issues. \n•	Use scriptin
 g/programming skills to enable system-level automation, problem detection,
  security maintenance and patch management. \n•	Building and deploying ope
 n source software and software from vendors/partners.\n•	Providing reliabl
 e and efficient backups/restores for all managed systems.\n•	Documenting s
 ystem administration procedures for routine and complex tasks.\n•	Maintain
 ing and monitoring the security of the HPC systems and servers.\n\n
