Teach the Teacher is a one-day workshop designed for high school teachers where they can learn skills and techniques for incorporating cutting-edge computing capabilities practices into high school courses. A Hands-on Workshop for Cybersecurity and Data Science in the Classroom

Workshop Details

During this on-day workshop, participants will learn to incorporate cybersecurity and data science into the high school coding curriculum, using Python as the primary coding language. There will be interactive computer activities and discussions. Our teaching materials are designed for a high school budget. They do not require any hardware other than a web browser and are easy to share. Bring your laptop!

Microcredentials

We also provide online microcredentials for teachers to increase their own knowledge of coding and computing, either before or after the workshop, offered free for accepted participants.

Texas A&M University, High Performance Research Computing (TAMU HPRC) provided professional development at SC22, and we use these materials in our middle/high school summer camps. 

Logistics

This is an in-person event open to high school and middle school teachers.

Lunch will be provided.

Continuing education credit from IEEE Computer Society will be awarded to participants.

Transportation must be arranged by the participant. Some travel support is available on an as-need basis.
